Data Type Calculation

What it is.

This is a field for simple calculations between two data in the same part sector. This means that if a sum is to be made between data in the part lines, only data from that particular sector can be selected. Another form of calculation is the one that can be made in the part header and footer, which would be a sum of totals, i.e. adding up all the values in a column of the different sections of the part model previously created. These calculation modalities can be used to calculate the total hours of work, the total amount of delivery note, etc.

How to configure it in the part model editor.

You start by having previously created two numeric values, or of type time, and then select the Data type* as Calculated. At this point, if the data is being created in header or footer, two calculation type options will appear: between data and sum of totals, as explained above.

In Data 1 you would select the first data to be considered. In Operation you can choose: addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. In Data 2 you select the second and last data to be considered in the calculation.

At the same time, you can choose the unit you want to consider for the calculated data. This calculation can be hidden, so that it does not appear in the PDF, this is usually useful when you have to do several intermediate operations and you are not interested in showing them. It will always be mandatory and you will have the option to show or not the result in the PDF copy.

How it works in the application

Taking into account the model gallery of work reports, the example of delivery note valuing materials and work will be used as an example. In this case, it calculates both materials and labor hours, but the calculation of the hours will be explained.

In this case, it is necessary to fill in two fields (from and to) so that the application itself performs a calculation between the two different data. It is important to previously select the operation to be performed (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and the unit, in this case hour format.
