Since version 3.0 of the Itcons work report application, in the web manager you have an option called “Create Models” where, as the name itself indicates, you can create different work report models that your company needs. These models are not a template and are not limited to a few options; you can create the models you need with all the data you need, that is, they are 100% configurable. However, before creating a model, you should be clear about several things:
- Who is going to fill in these report models: it can be the operator, the site manager, the person in charge of installation or maintenance, etc. This decision is important because, based on this, we will structure the work report; for example, whether the hours are assigned to the operator who is filling in the report from the smartphone or whether they are the one filling in everyone else’s reports.
- Structure of the report model: after deciding who will fill in the reports, the next question is what data you want to appear in your digital work report. It is possible that until now you have been working with paper reports in one way and that the organization decides that more or less information should appear in the new work reports or delivery notes. Therefore, before creating a new model, you must decide the data to collect: hours, materials, kilometers, allowances, personnel, machinery, tasks… and where each item of data will go: header, lines, or report footer. You can see all these fields when creating a report model.
- Data types: at this point, you have to decide what type of data each item will be, whether text, numeric, list of options, time… And if it is a calculated type, what calculation will be performed: addition, subtraction, multiplication… and what result you want from the data, whether a price, an hours calculation, etc.
